Charlie is Oklahoma-born but Texas raised. He received his formal music education at Interlochen Arts Academy (before college), University of North Texas (Undergrad), and the California Institute of the Arts where he received his Masters of Music Performance. After a decade of working in LA he has returned home to the DFW.
As an active performer, he has performed with the Allen Philharmonic, the Schreveport Symphony, Symphonia Pasadena, Center Stage Opera, and the Ojai Festival Orchestra for the west coast premier of John Luther Adams’s “Sila: The Breath of the World”. Outside of orchestral work, Charlie has performed in numerous musical theater production, private events, and premier events such as the BBC’s Ridley’s Road.
As an educator, Charlie has many years of experience teacher private lessons, in after-school programs, and as a visiting artist at CalArts. He currently plays and teaches Double Bass, Bass Guitar, Cello, Piano, Ukulele, and Guitar.
